Release Note (2.8.0)
New and improved summary
We are creating a new primary summary view which is an online read-friendly overview of annotations and comments. The summary is available to the assessor in the assessment tool:
The primary summary view is now much improved for on-screen viewing of annotations:
You can switch between the two summary views at the top. The new primary summary view looks like this:
The new summary will show all annotations to the right. If there are too many to show them all at once, they can be expanded and centered when you click the annotation, as you can see in the screenshot above.
Assessor tool enabled on FLOWoral
In order to allow comments in FLOWoral we will enable the assessor tool with access to creating notes and comments for the oral examination:
You have access to a time table in the assessor tool with tools to start preparation and examination timers. These are all optional to use but can help keeping track of time.
You also have a detailed time table available on the FLOW overview in the participant list:
This means all FLOW types are now available in the assessor tool to ensure a consistent and recognisable process for the assessors regardless of FLOW type.
Dynamic links to WISEflow get started guides
It will be possible to get a dynamic link for each get started guide linking to the latest version of a specific guide. This means it will be possible to provide a link on your institution help pages or through the WISEflow license specific help page which always downloads the latest version of the get started guide.
You can copy the dynamic link from the drop-down menu next to the PDF as shown here:
Note: It is now possible to sign up for the UNIwise newsletter for WISEflow basic supporters, extended supporters and license admins here in the menu "Instructions and start-up guides".
New module: Request an explanation
We are releasing new functionality to support the process where a participant can file af complaint. The first step in this direction is to allow the participant to request an explanation for the grade and assessment:
The student can request an explanation when this has been allowed on the flow and license. The student will have to fill out a license defined request template:
The template is defined by the license administrator and is filled out by the participant. When the request for an explanation has been filed by the participant, depending on settings, the request will either automatically be assigned to the associated assessor or require a manual accept and appointment by the manager:
The manager will be able to see if there are any new requests for explanations. The acceptance and appointment of the request for an explanation looks like this:
When the request has been accepted and appointed to an assessor, it will be available to the assessor on the flow:
Notice the yellow marking on the assignment for the participant. This means there is a pending request for an explanation. The assessor will be taken to the assessor tool where the explanation can be given:
Either you write the explanation or you mark the explanation as given in person. Depending on license settings the explanation will automatically be handed out to the participant immediately or again require a manual handling and accept from the manager of the flow.
In order to have this enabled on your license or if you have any questions regarding this you will have to contact the support by replying to this email.
License setting: Disable automatic creation of users logging in through authentication
Normally users successfully logging in through authentication services will create a new user in case the associated Id's are not found on an existing user on the license. For institutions with authentication systems WAYF, EduGain and FEIDE you can now disable the automatic creation of users logging in through the authentication service. This means users logging in with an organisational Id (or national Id) that does not already exist in WISEflow will receive an error saying there is no existing user with those Id's. This is useful for institutions with a fully operational SIS-integration as users are also created from here.
If you have any questions regarding this, or simply want this enabled, you will have to contact the support by replying to this email.
License setting: Assessor annotations and comments can be shared by default
We are introducing two new license specific settings;
1) All assessor comments are automatically shared with participant and co-assessor (can be unshared manually).
2) All assessor comments are automatically shared with reviewer regardless of sharing settings.
As you can see in the screenshot above it simply means the default for all new annotations and comments is shared with all instead of private.
If you have any questions regarding this or want these enabled you will have to contact the support by replying to this email.
License setting: Assessor has access to exporting grades
If this is enabled on the license the assessor has access to exporting grades:
The functionality is places below the "Register grades" and opens an export view as for the manager of the flow:
As you can see in the screenshot above the assessor has access to exporting to PDF or CSV-formats.
If you have any questions regarding this or want this enabled on your license you will have to contact the support by replying to this email.
